Terms of use

These terms apply when you use the PlotFinder app. The most important one is the second section — please read it.

What PlotFinder is

PlotFinder helps you find plots and coordinates in Botswana: look up a plot number, see what is around you, and get directions to a plot.

It is provided by Starlight Software Solutions.

The data is a guide, not a survey

Plot locations in PlotFinder are reference data. They are accurate enough to find a place, and they are not a cadastral survey, a boundary determination, or evidence of ownership or of any right over land.

Do not rely on PlotFinder to establish where a boundary runs, to buy or sell land, to site a structure, or in any dispute. For those, use a registered surveyor and the official records held by the relevant authority.

We correct errors when we find them, and we cannot promise the data is complete or current for any particular plot.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. Where you have set a password, keep it to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

Give us a real email address — it is how we would reach you about your account.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, and doing so ends these terms between us.

Plans and what they cover

The Free and Basic plans cover the town you are in, determined from your location, and follow you when you travel. Standard covers a set of towns you choose, held for the billing period. Premium covers every town.

The Free plan includes a limited number of route lookups per day. Paid plans do not have that limit.

What a plan covers is described in the app before you buy it.

Payment

Paid subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, in US dollars. Any pula figure shown is the approximate local equivalent for reference and is not the amount charged.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel or manage a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings — we cannot cancel it for you.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under its own policy.

Fair use

Please do not:

• Extract, scrape or bulk-copy the plot data, or build a competing dataset from it. Business access to the data is available under a separate contract — contact us.
• Share your account with other people, or resell access to it.
• Try to break, overload or work around the limits in the service.
• Use the app to do anything unlawful, or to work out where a particular person lives.

Availability

We aim to keep PlotFinder working, and we do not guarantee it will be available without interruption. Maps and directions depend on services we do not control.

Our liability

To the extent the law allows, PlotFinder is provided as it is, and we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it or from reliance on its data — including any loss relating to land, boundaries, transactions or development decisions.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

You can stop using PlotFinder and delete your account whenever you like.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why where we can.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
